Kohlrabi (brassica oleracea) is a German radish that is included in the Gongylodes family and the original came from Europe. Kohlrabi vegetable is a family of the same group of vegetables with cabbage, cauliflower, collard greens, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, and kale.

Kohlrabi vegetable has a flavor similar to broccoli stem or cabbage heart, but milder and sweeter, and young stems of kohlrabi is watery and crisp such as apple, although not as sweet as apples. Kohlrabi vegetable usually harvested before fully ripe because ripe kohlrabi into woody. Kohlrabi vegetables can be eaten raw such as salad vegetables or processed to be used as side dishes such as grilled or steamed.

Kohlrabi plant is a plant that can grow almost anywhere in areas of temperate climates. And to grow and develop properly then kohlrabi need fertile soil to sunlight and good drainage. Kohlrabi vegetable takes about 55 to 60 days to be ready to harvest, and kohlrabi weighs about 150 grams and can last up to 30 days.

Kohlrabi vegetable consists of several kinds, and varieties are generally available such as Gigante or also known as Superschmelz, Grand Duke, White Danube, Purple Danube, Vienna White, and Purple Vienna.
