Healthy dinner recipes are becoming more popular in this day and age. People are becoming alot more health concious and into ‘wellness’ despite how rushed life can be. In fact it is for this very reason that folks are paying more attention to what they eat and how quick it can be prepared.
as mentioned, people don’t have time therefore go for the next best (worst rather) and that is junk food.
I experiment with my meals and ensure I do not eat more than 1500 calories a day. For many this may seem a bind but before you know it, it is so much part of you.
I often prepare my own recipes that are exciting, different, tasty and low in fat and calories. An example of this is last night I had Grilled Salmon steaks with half a chopped red onion, Broccoli shavings, a tspn of pesto , pinch of garlic and a drible of virgin olive oil. season with a tiny bit of simple salt and pepper. Just bake in the oven for no more than 10 minutes at 220*C and serve on a bed of steamed long grain rice with steamed carrots and sliced corgettes.
It litrally took me 15 minutes in total and we sat down to a really great dinner at an average of 250 calories per plate. Not bad at all!
There are also so many ways to get kiddies to eat fruit and veg and the best way is for kids to help prepare these meals. If it is a weekend and you are out in the sun then get the kids to prepare fruit skewers or fruit pops. serve celery covered in peanut butter, a great sweet, stick yet healthy snack for kids.
