Choke berry or aronia, is a plant of the Rosaceae family, and native plants of eastern part in North America, and consumed in addition to many people because the fruit contains a variety of good nutrition for the health of the body, chokeberry tree is also widely used as ornamental plants that adorn the garden.
Choke berry is often found in the swamp or wet forest, and grow well if planted under trees. Choke berries are plants that are strong enough to drought, disease, insects, and pollution.
Red choke berry or aronia arbutifolia and black choke berry or aronia melanocarpa are two type of famous choke berry in the eastern part of North America where the fruit of red chokeberry has larger size, and taste sweeter, larger leaves, trees taller and more durable in the winter than chokeberry black. There is other type of chokeberry that we call purple chokeberry, or aronia prunifolia c which is a natural hybrid of the red and black chokeberry who also did not last long in winter

- Fresh Choke berries can be eaten directly after washing, and can also be used to make juice, syrup, jams, making wine, herbal teas, as well as a flavoring or coloring beverages including yoghurt
- Choke berry has a high content of antioxidant substances such as anthocyanins, and vitamin C that can enhance immunity against various diseases such as cancer, neurological diseases, aging, diabetes,
inflammation, and bacterial infections caused by radical free oxygen present in the body.
- Chokeberry is believed to help in controlling blood sugar and decrease cardiovascular risk factors.
